Dendritic cell therapy is a form of immunotherapy. The body's own defense cells, dendritic cells (T cells), are obtained from the patient's blood and modified using highly specialized procedures so that, for example, they can better recognize and destroy foreign structures. 

Cancer cells are also detected and destroyed in this way by our immune system. Doctors suspect that certain diseases only arise when our immune system is so weakened by genetic or environmental factors that this mechanism fails to detect, recognize and destroy. 

This is where dendritic cell therapy comes in. This is based on the immune system and the interaction of its defense cells. The dendritic cells play a key role in the immune defense, as they detect foreign or degenerated cells and tissue and pass this information on to other cells of the immune system, which attack and destroy the identified cells. 

Dendritic cells are therefore also called sentinel cells. 

Dendritic cell therapies have already been used successfully in patients who have survived multiple chemotherapy and radiation treatments without significant healing. The treatment is supplemented with biological products such as resveratrol and curcumin as well as minerals and vitamins to put the immune system in an optimal state. 

Nutrition also plays a very important role. Certain foods and beverages are no longer allowed to be consumed. Of course, as we get older, the number of other illnesses also increases dramatically! Of course, environmental pollution and influences also play a major role and everyone should check how they can improve their personal situation in this regard. 

Although the treatment of cancer with dendritic cells has been carried out very successfully for over 10 years, only 8% of all doctors are aware of this treatment method. This involves a treatment using the body's own cells, which are cultured and differentiated accordingly. This treatment can be supplemented by the use of so-called checkpoint inhibitors, which prevent or at least slow down the immune response against the tumor. 

Another very interesting approach is the use of so-called “oncolytic viruses”, which in small studies have shown astonishing effects, especially in so-called glioblastomas (very aggressive brain tumors). This treatment approach can be combined very well with dendritic cells! These viruses can be easily used in humans because they have hardly any side effects and cannot be integrated into the human genome! 

The Cursatis Immun Company has the potential to have various generic drugs manufactured and distributed in Europe. 

“Currently not available”: This statement is increasingly being applied to more and more medicines in German pharmacies. It is known that the main drug producers are currently located in China and India. Germany is currently undersupplied with medicines. 

The majority of medicines that are repeatedly affected by supply bottlenecks are prescription drugs. This includes
- Painkillers (e.g. ibuprofen or naproxen)
- Blood pressure lowering drugs (e.g. valsartan or candesartan)
- Psychotropic drugs (for example venlafaxine or fluoxetine)
- Blood pressure lowering drugs (e.g. ramipril)
- Stomach acid blockers (e.g. pantoprazole) - Thyroid medication (e.g. iodothyrox)
- Remedies for gout (e.g. Colchicum Dispert)
- Antibiotics (e.g. amoxicillin) 

Delivery bottlenecks also often occur with cancer drugs because production is very complex and requires sterile production conditions. In addition, some of these medications cannot be produced in stock. 

The number of reports of drug supply shortages has increased more than sixfold in the last five years. While there were a total of 40 reports in 2015, there were already 371 in 2021. The trend continues to rise. 

Unfortunately, supply shortages for medicines and medicines will remain a problem for the foreseeable future. For this reason, it is important that the Cursatis Immun Company begins to take countermeasures now and to open up and enable a secure supply market. 

Cursatis Immun has partners in Europe who have free production capacity for medicines. The company is therefore able to deliver urgently needed medication directly to Germany. However, in Germany, permits and approvals must first be obtained. That costs time and money. We expect to be able to offer generics in Germany from the second half of the year. These will be distributed by Cursatis Immun from November 2023.
